The Underground Railroad in West Vincent Township

On the afternoon of Novermber 22nd, the West Vincent Historic Resources Committee will host a virtual tour of properties in West Vincent that were part of the Underground Railroad and highlight the work of the Quaker families who lived there. 

The virtual tour will feature properties from last summer's Town Tours and Village Walks series as well as some additional historic information.

Into West Vincent: A Journey to Freedom

On the evening of July 16, the Town Tours and Village Walks series will be featuring properties in West Vincent that were part of the Underground Railroad. 

In the 1800s, the residents of four adjacent houses along the Old Kimberton Road devoted themselves to abolition and to the care of runaway slaves. The tour will show those farmsteads and highlight the work of the Quaker families who lived there.

This free event runs from 5:30pm to 7pm; parking is in a field at 1665 Kimberton Road. 

The event is organized by the West Vincent Historic Resources Committee in conjunction with the Chester County Planning Commission.

Local Private Collection and Real Estate Auction

Long time Birchrunville resident Hy Myerson is retiring and offering his offices and a number of private collections for sale.  The private collection auction will be held on June 13; the real estate auction is on June 16.

Discuss Plans for Birchrunville Schoolhouse Park

The West Vincent Township EAC and the Park and Recreation Commission will meet at 6:30pm adjacent to the Birchrunville Schoolhouse to discuss plans for the new Township park.
